What kind of technology is molecular distillation?

It primarily relies on the variance in the average molecular free path between different compounds to achieve efficient separation. Additionally, because the molecular distillation separation process can be conducted under high vacuum, it allows for efficient separation at temperatures much lower than the boiling points of the compounds.

Advantages of molecular distillation include
1.Low temperature distillation:
Conventional distillation techniques depend on the differences in boiling points between compounds for separation, necessitating high temperatures. Molecular Distillation, however, utilizes differences in the molecular motion average free path for separation, enabling efficient distillation at low temperatures under high vacuum.

2.Ultra low pressure distillation:
The theoretical molecular distillation separation process occurs between values of 0.01 Pa and 0.1 Pa. The extremely low distillation pressure increases the molecular motion average free path of compounds, thereby achieving efficient separation. In contrast to traditional distillation techniques, which often use pot-style distillation, molecular distillation setups have a closer arrangement between the condenser and the evaporator surface, enabling compound separation under ultra low pressure.

3.Rapid and efficient separation:
During the molecular distillation process, the compounds to be separated flow into the distillation unit from the top and exit from the bottom. On the evaporator surface, the compounds form a liquid film of approximately 2mm thickness under the action of film-forming components, facilitating efficient evaporation. The close arrangement of the condenser and evaporator surfaces allows for rapid condensation once the compounds evaporate, reducing the residence time of heat-sensitive compounds at high temperatures and preserving their characteristics.
